🇬🇧  YOGA RETREAT GOA

14 - 21 March 2027

Longing for the ocean, sunshine, rest and inspiration?

Experience the peaceful beauty of South Goa with beachfront bungalows, nourishing yoga and delicious food at the award winning Bamboo Yoga. I’ve been hosting retreats at Bamboo for many years, and each one has been a such a special experience that leaves a beautiful lasting imprint in our hearts.

Goa has been my home for the past 20 years, and I live just around the corner from Bamboo Yoga, so this really is my local neighbourhood. It feels especially meaningful to welcome you here. Bamboo is also where I teach my weekly classes so this really feels like home – and the staff is absolutely amazing. I know it sounds like a cliche but this is so true: arrive as a guest, leave as a friend!

A very warm welcome to sunny Goa.

And most of all, a warm welcome exactly as you are. Wherever you find yourself in life right now, Goa has a remarkable way of helping us catch up with ourselves. To slow down. To land. To rest. To gain clarity.

I can’t wait to look after you.

I’ve hosted more than 65 retreats over the years, so you’re in safe hands.

Much love,

Jennie

Reviews från earlier retreats:

“This was my first time visiting India, and it was an incredible experience. I felt so welcome from the very first email.

I’ve learned so much, made friends for life, and returned home feeling both rested and inspired.

It’s now been two months since the retreat, and I still feel calm and focused, despite a busy period at work. Wow!!!

A huge thank you!”

Getting there

The easiest option:

TUI has direct flights from London & Manchester to Goa!

There are also plenty of other airlines that fly to Goa with one stop along the way.

There are two airports in Goa. The closest is GOI (Dabolim Airport), which is around a two hour taxi ride from Bamboo Yoga. You can also fly into GOX (Manohar International Airport in Mopa), which is around three hours away.

Whichever airport you choose, we can arrange airport transfers for you.

If you need help with anything at all, just let me know.

Accommodation

There are two types of bungalows: Cabanas and Huts.

  • Cabanas are slightly larger and have bigger windows.
  • Huts are a little more budget friendly.

All bungalows have both AC & fan.

Extra nights before/after the retreat

If you have the time, I’d highly recommend staying a little longer than just the retreat week. Many participants choose to add a few extra nights, and I often hear the same thing at the end of the trip:

“I’m so glad I stayed longer. I don’t want to leave!”

For prices and availability, please contact Bamboo Yoga directly and let them know you’re joining Jennie’s retreat.

Please note that additional nights are subject to availability, so it’s best not to leave it too late.

If you have a deposit with us from earlier years: please get in touch as soon as possible. You’ll have the opportunity to reserve your place before booking opens to the public.

How to book

Fill in the booking form and I’ll get back to you within 24 hours with an invoice for your deposit.

Please note that your place is not confirmed until your deposit has been received, so I’d recommend waiting for your confirmation before booking any flights.

Do I need to be "good at yoga"?

Absolutely not!

In my opinion, being “good” at yoga has very little to do with being flexible or being able to do handstands. Advanced yoga isn’t about what we do. It’s about how we do it.

Let’s focus on:
What do you need right now?
Perhaps you love the challenge of arm balances. Or maybe what your body and mind need most is a yogic nap (yoga nidra). And perhaps the answer changes from one day to the next.

I’ll meet you where you are, and support and inspire you throughout the whole retreat.

I always offer different variations in my classes, so that everyone can participate in a way that feels supportive and accessible.
During the retreat I’ll also create workshops based on the interests and wishes of the group, giving you the opportunity to dive deeper into what inspires you most.

Practical information

As the retreat approaches, you’ll receive an email with everything you need to know before your trip, including a packing list and details of anything you’ll need to arrange in advance, such as flights, a visa and travel insurance.

Yoga teacher: Jennie Wadsten Sharma

Jennie is one of Sweden’s most respected and appreciated yoga teachers, with more than 25 years of experience teaching both in Sweden and internationally. She discovered yoga while working as an accountant. After experiencing burnout, she changed careers and became a yoga teacher, and has worked full time with yoga ever since.

Jennie combines her extensive teaching experience with a passion for learning and continues to further her studies in neuroscience and psychology.

She sees yoga as a tool for cultivating inner calm, self compassion and greater focus in everyday life. She is particularly appreciated for her warmth and kindness, her non dogmatic approach to yoga, and her ability to create inspiring classes where everyone feels seen and cared for.

Organisers

Yoga: Jennie Wadsten Sharma, YogaLeela AB
Food & Accommodation: Bamboo Yoga

Information for Swedish clients:
This retreat is not a package holiday under the Package Travel Regulations. Accommodation and meals are booked and paid for directly to the retreat centre and are subject to the retreat centre’s own booking terms and conditions. YogaLeela is responsible solely for the yoga teaching.

If you're a yoga teacher

The retreat includes a workshop where we’ll explore topics that are relevant for both yoga practitioners and yoga teachers.

The workshop provides 3 hours of Continuing Education (YACEP) credit (www.yogaalliance.org)

If there’s interest, we can also arrange informal discussion sessions where we’ll explore common challenges in teaching yoga, such as finding inspiration and motivation, as well as ways to attract more students to your classes.

More info: Cabanas & Huts

Built using local organic materials, our beach cabanas and huts are simple and stylish, comfortable, private and eco-friendly. Located just steps from the beach, they are designed to help you reconnect with nature. Whether lying in the hammock on your balcony, or falling asleep to the sound of the waves, the normal stresses of life melt away and you will feel open to a more profound yoga practice.

All the huts and cabanas have AC & fans. Both are super comfortable. The difference between them is that the cabanas are boutique hotel style and a bit bigger, and the huts are more affordable.
